Sodexo retained Dembling + Dembling Architects, P.C. to renovate the existing dining area and food serving line at this casual dining area of the Student Union building. Dembling + Dembling worked closely with Sodexho’s design team to document the existing facility and bring the concept design to final construction documents which were used for competitive bidding.
New booths, tables, soft seating, finishes and lighting were incorporated into the existing space to give the dining area a more comfortable and less institutional atmosphere. The existing ceramic tile floor was removed and replaced with vinyl tile and carpeting.
The service counter was removed and replaced utilizing both new and existing equipment to facilitate the inclusion of four new branded food concepts.
The project had to be designed, working drawings done and construction complete in approximately 10 weeks. The project was completed on time and within the budget.
